Robert McCaffrey
Robert is the founder and creative director of Studio McCaffrey. His innovative design-led mindset, along with extensive experience in product design and development, conceives compelling products that enable brands to engage with new and existing audiences through considered and characterful design.
Robert has worked with established and emerging luxury, fashion and sportswear companies throughout Europe. Since 1999, he has achieved critical and commercial success through projects in footwear, accessories and branding.
As a lecturer at the School of Innovation and Technology at the Glasgow School of Art, Robert leads design teams on a wide range of future-focused projects to explore design's role as a creative, strategic and collaborative practice.
Achievements
Created market leading sports-inspired lifestyle brands of clothing, shoe and accessories.
Designed an iconic collection of fashion-football sneakers which grew to become a best selling style throughout Europe.
Designed over 20 prêt-à-porter collections of men’s and women’s shoes, bags and accessories for acclaimed clients such as LVMH and Dirk Bikkembergs, presented in Paris and Milan.
Redesigned an Italian football team, from brand identity to on-field uniforms, resulting in a collaboration with Nike to create the first professional fashion-football boot.
Launched an eponymous collection of luxury shoes, bags and accessories distributed worldwide by Mr Porter.
PROCESS

Develop: Robert collaborates with clients and manufacturers to engage in a comprehensive creative development phase, which includes conceptualisation through both hand and digital drawing, prototyping, testing and refining to inform product tech packs, ensuring an exacting final outcome
Deliver: Robert outlines communication strategy proposals that align with the purpose of the project, employing compelling storytelling to create a holistic brand offering that meaningfully engages with specific audiences.
